Fleet is set for a brief taste of summer this week before temperatures tumble and rain returns, according to the latest Met Office forecast.

Thursday 28 May will be the pick of the days, with the mercury climbing to 30°C under sunny skies. Those heading out should be prepared for very high pollen levels, driven by grass and weed pollen, and high UV levels that mean sun protection is a must.

The warmth holds into the weekend, though signs of change appear on Sunday when highs dip to 21°C with sunny intervals and pollen remaining high. By Monday 1 June, a more noticeable shift arrives as light rain moves in, temperatures fall to 19°C, and it will feel closer to 16°C in the breeze. The chance of precipitation peaks at 70% during the afternoon.

Unsettled conditions linger through Tuesday and Wednesday, with further light showers and temperatures hovering around 19–20°C. Wind gusts could reach 32mph on Wednesday, making it feel notably cooler. The wetter weather does bring some relief for hay fever sufferers, with pollen levels dropping to moderate from Monday.

Residents can check the full seven-day forecast on the Met Office website.
