Residents in Folkestone, Kent, are being advised to prepare for a spell of wet and windy weather starting on Thursday, 12 March 2026, as the Met Office predicts wind gusts reaching up to 49mph.
The weather is forecast to turn more severe on Friday, 13 March 2026, when wind speeds could peak at 51mph. There is also an 80 per cent chance of heavy rain hitting the town at approximately 6am on Friday morning, which may lead to difficult conditions for the early commute.
Safety organisations like the RNLI often advise extra caution near the seafront during periods of high gusts, as conditions can become dangerous on exposed coastal paths. The combination of wind and rain is expected to cause minor disruptions for those with outdoor plans throughout the end of the week.
The weather is expected to clear up significantly by Saturday, 14 March 2026, which is forecast to be a sunny day. Wind speeds are predicted to drop to around 17mph, providing much calmer conditions for the local community.
