Handmade goods by independent makers from across the North East will fill Exhibition Square near Primark as the Crafters Roadshow returns to Metrocentre in Gateshead from Thursday 9 July to Sunday 12 July 2026.
Visitors can browse a range of handcrafted items and unique gifts while meeting the small business owners behind them. The event brings together traders who live and work in the region, giving shoppers the chance to speak directly with makers about their craft. Each stall comes with a six foot showcase station to display work.
The roadshow is a familiar sight at Metrocentre this year, having previously set up in Exhibition Square in February, March, May, and June. The shopping centre remains a major draw for small businesses, as one of the country’s busiest retail destinations. On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, entry is from nine in the morning, and on Sunday from ten o’clock, giving people a flexible window to drop in over the four day run.
For anyone in Gateshead who could not make the earlier dates, the July event is the next chance to meet local crafters in person. Traders pay £55 for a single day on Thursday or Friday, or £160 to trade across the full weekend, and they can leave displays set up inside the secure building overnight.
The event runs in Exhibition Square near Primark until Sunday 12 July, closing at five that afternoon.
