Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust in Tyne and Wear is advertising 30+ current vacancies across its hospitals and community services. The roles range from neonatal nursing through radiology/diagnostic support to emergency care administration and communications.

Most of the advertised posts list the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QE) as the primary location; Bensham Hospital and community services (including work linked to the Virtual Frailty Ward) are also listed as key sites. Many roles are available for immediate start; several specialist nursing and related posts have application deadlines extending into late January and early February 2026 (examples on the Trust vacancies page include closing dates of 27 Jan 2026, 29 Jan 2026 and 5 Feb 2026).

Pay depends on the role and banding under Agenda for Change. Entry-level roles (Band 2/3), such as healthcare assistants or some administrative posts, typically fall in the region of £22,383–£24,336 a year; more senior nursing posts (Band 5/6) can pay up to around £42,618, depending on band and experience.

The Trust’s Annual Report and Accounts 2023/24 describes recruitment as a key part of its Strategy 2023–2026 to stabilise the workforce and modernise care delivery. The report highlights progress on filling many nursing posts and sets recruitment within a wider programme of service transformation and workforce alignment.

Local residents interested in these opportunities can view current vacancies on the Trust’s careers pages and via the NHS Jobs employer profile. Applications are processed through NHS Jobs and the Trust’s recruitment system (Trac). The Trust is recruiting both fully qualified clinicians and people seeking entry-level roles, with training and apprenticeship pathways available.
