A 40-year-old man has been sentenced to five years and eight months in prison on 18 March 2026 after carrying out a violent attack on two women in Gloucester, Gloucestershire. Jeremiah Joshua Smith pleaded guilty to charges of causing serious physical harm with intent and assault.

According to the Gloucestershire Constabulary, the incident happened while children were inside the property. To get away from the violence, the children had to be pushed out of a downstairs window to reach safety.

The case was heard at Gloucester Crown Court, where the sentence was handed down for the domestic-related crimes. Local officials stated that the conviction brings closure to the victims and shows that the city takes firm action to protect people from violence in their homes.
