Residents in Haverhill will have a new way to connect over literature starting this month as the library introduces a new book group.

The new group, based at Haverhill Library on Camps Road, will hold its first session on 18 April 2026 from 14:30 until 16:00. This addition aims to provide another opportunity for local book lovers to meet others in the community and discuss their favourite reads.

Haverhill Library is part of the Suffolk Community Libraries network, which is run by Suffolk County Council and manages 45 library branches across the county. The facility also continues to host the established Bookworms Book Group, which meets on the second Saturday of each month, with the next session set for 9 May 2026.

Library manager Audrey Woodley oversees these community programmes at the site. For more information on how to join the new group, residents can contact the library directly by calling 01440 848095 or sending an email to [email protected].

The library remains supported by the Friends of Haverhill Library, a community group that helps raise funds and organise local activities. Following a series of building improvements completed in 2022, the library now features flexible space that allows for various community events and group meetings.
