Residents in Haverhill, Suffolk, can now access urgent support for food, housing, and debt more easily following an update to the Reach Community Projects website on 26 February 2026. The charity has added a series of “I need help” links to give locals a direct way to find advice on benefits, threatened eviction, and financial problems.

The new online system also includes a Professional Referral route, allowing local workers like doctors or council staff to quickly connect people with support. These changes are designed to help residents get the right information faster and reduce the risk of people becoming homeless or running out of food.

For those who need to speak to someone in person, the charity still runs Welcome Spaces at five different locations across the town. These sessions are held from 2pm to 4pm every weekday, rotating between the different venues, and anyone can drop in without needing to book an appointment first.

The update comes after the charity reported that the number of children needing help from its foodbank rose by 56 per cent in the five years leading up to 2024. To tackle this growing need, the Trussell Trust and the National Lottery Community Fund gave the organisation £450,000 in late 2023 to help prevent local hardship.

Alongside the new help links, the website now features a dedicated page for residents in Newmarket. By making these resources easier to find online, the charity hopes to provide earlier help for families and individuals across the community who are struggling to make ends meet.
