Residents in Hinckley are being advised to prepare for difficult travel conditions as heavy rain and strong winds are expected to hit the area on Wednesday 15 April 2026. The Met Office indicates that wet weather will arrive in the late afternoon, with the chance of precipitation reaching 95 percent between 3pm and 4pm.

Alongside the rain, the area will see gusty conditions, with wind speeds forecast to peak at 32mph between 2pm and 3pm. Visibility on the roads may drop to as low as 960 metres during the heaviest periods of rainfall, which the weather service categorises as very poor visibility.

The Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service has issued advice for the public, stating that drivers should slow down and only travel at speeds they can stop within the distance they can see to be clear during adverse weather conditions. Those planning to be out should allow extra time for their journeys or consider moving planned activities indoors.

While temperatures will reach a maximum of 17°C, the weather service notes that it will feel closer to 12°C throughout the day. Humidity is also expected to remain high, peaking at 98 percent early Wednesday morning.
