Residents in Hinckley are being told to prepare for a spell of heavy rain and a sharp drop in temperature starting on Thursday, 12 March 2026. According to the Met Office, a band of squally rain will move across Leicestershire, bringing blustery conditions that could impact local travel plans.
The weather system is expected to bring strong winds to the area, with gusts forecast to peak at 46mph during the day. This wet and windy weather is likely to move through the town overnight, marking the end of the milder conditions seen earlier in the week.
Once the rain has passed, temperatures are set to fall significantly across the region. While the actual air temperature may stay above zero, the wind chill will make it feel much colder for people heading outside on Friday and Saturday.
Current forecasts show that the “feels like” temperature will drop to -1°C on Friday. By Saturday, the conditions are expected to feel even colder, with temperatures reaching a “feels like” low of -2°C as the winter-like weather takes hold for the weekend.
