The Met Office has warned residents in Hinckley, Leicestershire, to prepare for strong winds and heavy rain arriving on Sunday 1 March and Monday 2 March 2026. These conditions are expected to cause travel delays on roads and public transport while increasing the risk of local flooding in vulnerable spots.
Forecasters expect wind gusts to reach 34 mph over both days, which may cause damage to garden furniture, bins, and temporary outdoor structures. On Sunday morning, there is an 80 per cent chance of light rain starting from 6 am, potentially leading to surface water on local roads.
The Environment Agency confirmed that flood warnings are already in place across parts of England as of 27 February 2026. Because the Hinckley and Burbage area is a designated flood risk zone, residents are being told to watch for rising water levels.
The Monday Market in the town centre is also likely to be affected by the windy conditions on 2 March 2026. Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council advises people to secure any loose items around their homes to prevent them from blowing away.
