Residents in Hinckley are experiencing a brief period of unusually warm weather this week, with temperatures reaching 21°C on Wednesday, 8 April 2026. According to the Met Office, this warm spell will be short-lived, with cooler conditions and rain arriving in the area starting on Thursday afternoon.

While Wednesday remains sunny, the weather is expected to change significantly as the week progresses. Temperatures will drop to 16°C on Thursday and fall further to approximately 12°C from Friday onwards. Residents should also prepare for more unsettled conditions throughout the weekend, as there is an increasing chance of rain beginning Thursday afternoon and continuing through Sunday.

In addition to the shift in temperature and the arrival of rain, wind gusts are expected to strengthen noticeably from Thursday, potentially peaking at 34mph. This is a marked increase compared to the light winds of 9 to 11mph observed on Wednesday. Despite these changes, there are currently no weather warnings in force for Hinckley or any other part of the country.

Those with hay fever are advised to take extra care this week, as very high pollen levels are expected across England and Wales. Birch and ash pollen are identified as the primary causes for the high counts, which are expected to persist for most of the week before beginning to ease to high levels by Sunday.
