The Lawrence Batley Theatre in Huddersfield has announced that the popular stage adaptation of the classic children’s book The Tiger Who Came to Tea will visit the venue this summer. Families can enjoy the show from Wednesday 17 June to Thursday 18 June 2026, with performances featuring the story of a girl and her unexpected visitor.
Based on the best-selling 1968 book by Judith Kerr, the play has toured for over 16 years and comes to the local stage. The production is adapted and directed by David Wood OBE and is suitable for children aged 3 and older. The show lasts approximately 55 minutes and includes sing-along songs and audience participation to bring the story to life.
Tickets for the performances are available for £16.00 each. The theatre is also offering a family deal for four people at £58, and groups of 10 or more can purchase tickets for £11 each. Performances will take place on Wednesday 17 June at 4:30pm, followed by two shows on Thursday 18 June at 10:30am and 4:30pm.
The Lawrence Batley Theatre, which opened in 1994, is located at Queen’s Square, Queen’s Street in Huddersfield. The building has a long history in the town, dating back to its origins as a Methodist chapel built in 1819.
