A free Family Fun Day with fairground rides, crafts and live cricket comes to Huddersfield town centre this Saturday, 11 July, as part of efforts to bring more activity to the streets over the summer. Organised through the Hello Huddersfield destination brand, the event is the latest in a string of town centre gatherings delivered by Huddersfield BID.

Children’s fair rides and an inflatable slide will sit alongside free craft activities, while the West Yorkshire Cricket Foundation provides cricket activities. The Huddersfield African Caribbean Cultural Trust contributes family fund day activities, and the lineup also features music, food stalls and drinks. The whole day is free and open to all local families.

Hello Huddersfield, which is backed by Huddersfield BID, built the event as part of a wider calendar intended to animate the town centre and strengthen community ties. It follows the Food and Drink Week that runs 4–11 July and the Get Your Geek On comic‑con event held on 27 June. Digital engagement with the brand has grown: its app now passes 5,000 downloads and reaches more than 3,000 monthly users.

Further details, including specific timings, are listed on the Hello Huddersfield website under its Community events section.
