The Huddersfield Giants are offering free tickets to local football fans for their opening home match against Wakefield Trinity on Sunday, February 22, 2026. The game will be held at the Accu Stadium in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, as part of a campaign to fill the stands for the start of the new season.

According to the Huddersfield Giants, any Huddersfield Town football season card holder can attend the 3:00 PM match for free by scanning their card at the turnstiles. Current Giants season card holders are also being given a free pass to bring a friend to the game to help create a busy atmosphere for the local derby.

The 2026 season is the final year the team will play at the Accu Stadium, which was previously known as the John Smith’s Stadium. The club has confirmed they will move to a new home after this season ends, making this opening fixture the start of a year-long farewell to their long-time ground.

Supporters attending the match will find a new fan zone area located at the old gym entrance, which has room for up to 600 people. These updates and ticket offers are designed to encourage more residents to attend as the team faces Wakefield, who have returned to the top league this year.
