Kirklees Active Leisure (KAL) has announced that the competition pool at Huddersfield Leisure Centre in West Yorkshire will be closed for three mornings starting on 30 March 2026. The temporary closure is required so that workers can carry out essential maintenance on the ventilation system at the site.

The competition pool will be closed to the public and for scheduled sessions on 30 March, 31 March, and 1 April 2026. Service is expected to resume and the pool will reopen to swimmers at 1:30pm on each of those days.

According to KAL, which is a not-for-profit charitable trust that runs leisure sites across the region, swimmers and training groups should plan their visits around these times. The organisation has suggested that people use their official phone app to find the most current information about which sessions are still running.

The leisure centre is a major hub for the local community and is managed by the trust as part of its work across the Kirklees area. These maintenance works are part of the routine upkeep of the building to keep the facilities in good condition for residents.
