The Huddersfield BID has released a new programme of town centre events on the Hello Huddersfield website to encourage more people to visit the town in West Yorkshire. The schedule covers activities running from February through June 2026, offering a mix of family-friendly festivals, workshops, and live entertainment. This plan aims to keep the area busy and vibrant while several major building projects continue nearby.
Residents can attend specific upcoming events such as the Mrs S Festival: Dance Showcase on February 17, 2026, and the MYnetwork Huddersfield Meet Up on February 18, 2026. Other highlights in the calendar include a Prince candlelight concert on February 19, 2026, as well as regular activities like the Crafts Club at The Light and Ink Spill writing workshops. The lineup includes both free and ticketed options to ensure there is something for everyone to do.
The new events are taking place as the town undergoes a 1 billion pound transformation, which includes the Huddersfield Open Market upgrade starting this spring. According to Sam Sharp, the chief executive of the Huddersfield BID, the organisation is committed to supporting local shops and firms through these gatherings. This support comes as construction progresses on the new food hall and public square, which are both expected to open later this summer.
Visitors are encouraged to use the online listings to check for any short-term changes to parking or walking routes that may happen on busier event days. The programme also aims to welcome students and staff from the new National Health Innovation Campus, which opened its latest building at the start of the year. Local businesses can use the schedule to prepare for more visitors in the town centre over the coming months.
