Passengers in Ipswich and surrounding areas should prepare for ongoing travel disruptions as Ipswich Buses manages a series of road closures affecting five routes through 29 April 2026. The service changes are due to various roadworks occurring across the region, leading to diversions and the temporary closure of several bus stops.

The Route 119 service is currently being diverted in Framlingham due to infrastructure works being carried out by Essex & Suffolk Water on Mount Pleasant. This diversion is expected to remain in place through 29 April 2026. This follows the company’s recent completion of a 3 million pound water pipeline project between the Benhall Water Treatment Works and Framlingham Tower in February 2026.

Additional short-term disruptions have also impacted local travel this week. Routes 118 and 119 faced diversions on Ipswich Road in Witnesham during the day on 23 April and 24 April, while the Route 92 service was disrupted at Brooklands Estate on 23 April. During the Brooklands Estate closure, several stops were unable to be served, including those at Palfery Heights, Brooklands Rise, Brooklands Road, New Village, Cattawade Street, and Bergholt Road.

Further travel changes are planned for the coming days, with the Route 93 and X93 services set to face diversions on the High Street in Colchester on 27 April. The closure is expected to last from 7pm until midnight to accommodate necessary roadworks. Passengers are encouraged to check the latest updates directly through the bus operator to see if their specific journey is affected by these ongoing works.
