Residents in Ipswich, Suffolk, can now access a free hot meal every week as part of a community project at a local church. FoodCycle Ipswich is hosting the sessions every Tuesday at 4:00 PM at Burlington Baptist Church to help people deal with rising food costs and loneliness.

The service provides a meat-free, three-course meal made from surplus food that would have otherwise been thrown away. People do not need to book a seat or have a referral to attend, and the doors are open to everyone in the community.

Volunteers prepare and serve the food at the church hall on London Road, creating a social space for guests to eat together. This service works alongside other local groups like Families in Need, which provides food parcels for those who require them.

According to FoodCycle, the project aims to turn high-quality surplus ingredients into healthy meals for the neighbourhood. More details on local food support can be found through the Suffolk InfoLink website.
