Residents in Ipswich, Suffolk, will soon have access to 24 new electric vehicle charging points at the Anglia Retail Park following a project announcement on 9 March 2026 that aims to support greener travel in the town.

The project is being delivered by Ipswich Borough Assets, which is a company owned by the local council to manage site developments. These extra chargers will add to the existing facilities at the shopping area to increase the number of cars that can be powered at the same time.

Installing these new chargers was required as part of the planning permission for the Lidl GB store that recently opened at the site. The work also includes improvements to the surrounding greenery and landscaping at the retail park.

According to Ipswich Borough Council, this expansion builds on the 12 Tesla fast chargers that were launched at the park in early 2024. The new charging equipment is being supplied and fitted by a company called Evlution.
