The 14th annual One Big Multicultural Festival will return to Alexandra Park in Ipswich on Sunday, 30 August 2026. This free community event, running from 12noon to 6pm, aims to celebrate the diverse cultures living and working across Suffolk.
Organised by the charity BSC Multicultural Services in collaboration with Ipswich Entertains, the festival is expected to be the largest yet. Last year, the event reached a record attendance of more than 8,000 visitors, continuing a trend of growth for the celebration.
The festival aims to encourage collaboration and cohesion among the community, which includes people from more than 60 different nationalities. As Boshor Ali, chair of the organising charity, noted, the goal of the event is to unite local communities.
Visitors can look forward to a variety of activities throughout the day, including stage entertainment hosted by Suffolk Sound, a children’s funfair, and sporting events like Kabaddi and football. Attendees will also be able to browse stalls featuring henna art, face painting, and various food options.
This event joins other major highlights in the summer series managed by the local council, which also includes Ipswich Music Day on 5 July and the Ipswich Food and Drink Festival from 18 to 19 July.
