The University of Suffolk officially opened its new student library with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in Ipswich, Suffolk, on 11 March 2026. The new facility provides a modern space for study and centralises academic resources for the campus community.

The library is located within the Waterfront Building and represents a major investment in university infrastructure. This development follows the institution receiving national recognition for its teaching quality and student experience.

As part of the campus changes, the former library building is being repurposed to house a new gym and the offices for the Students’ Union. This move is intended to modernise the campus environment and bring academic resources together in one place.

To help with the physical move of the books and equipment, external memberships for people such as former students were put on hold starting 6 February 2026. Access for these members is expected to start again on 20 March 2026.
