Peter Over has been posthumously inducted into the Ipswich Town Hall of Fame during a special ceremony at Portman Road in Ipswich, Suffolk. The honour was announced on 20 March 2026 at the annual Former Players Association reunion dinner.
Mr Over, who died suddenly on 4 January 2026 at the age of 63, was recognised for his lifelong commitment to the club and the wider community. He served as a club ambassador and was a trustee for the Ipswich Town Foundation, which is the charitable arm of the organisation.
The local farmer and businessman had been a director at Ipswich Town since 2015 and was appointed as the chairman of the club PLC just before Christmas 2025. He is now one of only 11 people to be inducted into the Hall of Fame after their death, joining legendary managers like Sir Alf Ramsey.
Beyond his football roles, Mr Over was a prominent member of the agricultural community and managed Elmswell Hall Farm. He also held the position of Deputy Lieutenant for Suffolk, a role where he represented the King during official visits to local businesses and charities.
The ceremony, held in the Sir Bobby Robson Suite, also saw former striker Darren Bent added to the Hall of Fame. The event was attended by many former players who gathered to celebrate the impact both men had on the history of the club.
