Staff at Kingswinford Medical Practice in Kingswinford, West Midlands, looked after patients in 5,162 appointments during January 2026. The practice published these figures on 5 February 2026 to show how it is managing local healthcare demand during the busy winter months.

The practice also handled 4,336 telephone calls from people in the community throughout the month. In the NHS Friends and Family Test for January 2026, 96.5% of respondents said their experience with the service was “Very Good” or “Good.”

To deal with the large number of requests, the practice uses a triage model in which a GP reviews each patient request to decide the most appropriate next step — this may result in a face-to-face appointment, a telephone consultation, or referral to another clinician such as a pharmacist.

The triage-first approach forms part of the Black Country Integrated Care Board’s move to a “Modern General Practice” / “Total Triage” model across the region. The practice also works with neighbouring surgeries to provide enhanced-access appointments in the evenings and on Saturdays.

The practice team is led by Dr Louise Butler (Senior Partner and Registered Manager) and is based at The Health Centre, Standhills Road, Kingswinford, DY6 8DN. Kingswinford Medical Practice is rated “Good” by the Care Quality Commission (latest review 6 July 2023).
