Kingswinford Medical Practice is urging patients to join its Patient Participation Group, a long-standing forum that gives residents a direct say in how local GP services are run. The Standhills Road surgery announced the recruitment drive on 30 June 2026, with the group actively seeking new voices across all ages and backgrounds.

The PPG meets at the practice roughly every eight weeks, averaging four or five sessions a year, with a member of the management team present. Its current committee includes Chair Mrs Bolton and interim treasurer Mrs J Green, though the vice-chair and secretary positions remain vacant. All registered patients can join, and the surgery particularly welcomes those with health conditions or disabilities. To get involved, residents can complete an online form, call 01384 271 241, email [email protected], or ask at reception.

The group has delivered tangible improvements to the waiting room in recent years. A children’s art corner, funded by the Dudley Purse Fund, later made way for a reading corner supported by The Saleem Foundation. Meeting minutes stretching back to November 2022 show a record of patient suggestions that have fed directly into practice decisions. Minutes from 2025 and 2026 remain available on the surgery’s website.

Alongside practical projects, the PPG’s formal constitution tasks it with amplifying patient views, raising awareness of health issues, and supporting GPs and staff to drive positive changes in NHS services. The open call for volunteers suggests the practice wants to broaden that representation further.

Anyone registered with the practice can submit their details via the online portal on the surgery’s website. The recruitment page was last updated on 29 June 2026 and confirms the group is looking to fill its vacant officer roles while welcoming general members who simply want to contribute ideas.
