The West Midlands Police are asking residents in Kingswinford, West Midlands, to check their home security cameras after a violent robbery involving rare coins. The theft took place at a unit on the Birmingham New Road in Dudley at around 4:20 p.m. on Sunday, February 8, 2026.

Three men, aged 75, 79, and 84, were injured during the incident when a group of people stole high-value gold and silver Royal Mint coins, including commemorative John Lennon, David Bowie, and James Bond editions. The suspects fled the scene in a grey/silver Mitsubishi Outlander.

Investigating officers believe the car may have used side streets in Kingswinford to avoid cameras on the main roads. They are urging locals to look through dashcam or doorbell footage for any sightings of the vehicle.

The police are also warning scrap and coin dealers to be alert for anyone trying to sell the rare coins. Anyone with information is asked to use the live chat on the police website or call 101, quoting crime reference 20/141018/26.
