Residents in Kirkby are being reminded that bin and recycling collections will continue as normal over the Easter 2026 period. Knowsley Council has confirmed that there will be no changes to the usual collection days for households across the borough.

Unlike previous years, there will be no Saturday catch-up collections for bins that would normally be picked up on bank holidays. In 2025, the council provided make-up collections on Saturday, April 19 (the Saturday before Easter Monday), but this practice will not be repeated this year. Residents are encouraged to simply present their bins on their regular scheduled collection day.

This update comes as the local authority prepares to launch a new weekly household food waste collection service on 13 April 2026. Households should look out for their food waste caddies, which are currently being delivered to properties across the area.

For any questions regarding waste services, residents can contact the council’s Waste Management Service by emailing [email protected] or by calling 0151 443 2400.
