Residents in Kirkby are set to enjoy a brief period of unusually warm spring weather before conditions turn unsettled for the upcoming Bank Holiday weekend. According to the Met Office, temperatures will reach 23C on Thursday 30 April and 24C on Friday 1 May, which is approximately 10C higher than the typical late April average of 13C.

While the midweek period is ideal for outdoor activities, the weather will shift from Friday onwards. Skies are expected to become cloudier with scattered showers spreading in from the southwest. These conditions may include heavy and potentially thundery outbreaks on Friday evening, leading to an unsettled Bank Holiday weekend. Temperatures will drop significantly as a result, falling to between 14C and 15C by Monday 4 May.

There are currently no weather warnings in force for the local area. However, the Met Office advises that hay fever sufferers should take precautions, as pollen levels are currently high due to the oak and birch season. These levels are expected to ease by the weekend.
