Recent business openings in Kirkby, Merseyside, are bringing more jobs and services to the community as the local town centre continues to grow. These additions, which include a new dental surgery and various shops, are part of a long-term effort to improve the area for residents.

One of the newest arrivals is the mydentist practice on Telegraph Way, which moved to a brand-new site with six surgeries. The health provider spent £700,000 on the facility, which officially opened in August 2025 to provide better dental care for local people.

This growth follows a decision by Knowsley Council to buy the town centre for £43.8 million in 2019 to take control of building work. Since the purchase, several major brands have opened in the town, including a Morrisons supermarket, Home Bargains, and food spots like KFC and Taco Bell.

On 11 February 2026, the council approved a new plan to keep this progress moving forward through 2027. Future projects for the community include a new cinema with multiple screens and more places to eat and drink at the site of the old library.
