Merseyside Police are asking for help from the public after a robbery took place in Kirkby, Merseyside, on the evening of Wednesday 28 January 2026. Officers have urged anyone who was in the area between 6:00pm and 10:00pm on that date to come forward if they saw anything suspicious or out of the ordinary.

Detectives are specifically seeking digital evidence such as CCTV, dashcam or doorbell-camera footage that could help identify the suspects. The investigation is focusing on residential areas including Northwood and Westvale, where many homes have doorbell and private security cameras that may have captured the individuals involved.

According to local crime data, robbery rates in the area had begun to stabilise in recent years as part of multi‑year policing operations. This latest incident is being treated as a priority and is being progressed by the Kirkby Targeted Policing Team working alongside the Knowsley Crime and Communities Team, a multi‑agency partnership with the council aimed at improving local safety.

Police have not yet released a description of the suspects and say they are reviewing local reports and any similar activity across the borough. A Merseyside Police spokesperson added: “We are asking anyone who saw anything suspicious or has any footage to come forward. Your information, no matter how small it may seem, could be the key to identifying those responsible.”

Anyone with information or footage is asked to contact Merseyside Police quoting the appeal reference on the force’s website.
