Lancaster & Morecambe College (LMC) announced on 30 January 2026 that 97% of its Level 3 learners progressed directly into employment after completing their courses — a record figure for the college.
Daniel (Danny) Braithwaite, Principal & Chief Executive, said the result reflects the college’s close work with local employers to align curriculum, industry placements and training with regional skills needs.
The announcement follows LMC’s February 2025 Ofsted inspection, which rated the college ‘Good’ and noted that ‘learners and apprentices are proud of the knowledge, skills and behaviours that they develop.’ Ofsted also commended the college’s strong contribution to meeting local skills needs.
The timing coincides with the expected start of construction on Eden Project Morecambe in 2026. As an official partner on apprenticeship and skills training for the Eden scheme, LMC has been preparing students for roles in sustainable construction, tourism and green technologies; the Eden design was refined in late 2025 but the project remains a major future employer for the region.
Local reporting, has highlighted the college’s local impact. LMC — a member of The Lancashire Colleges group — continues to focus on practical, employer-linked training that includes real-world work placements.
