Lancaster City Council has launched a new online section called Market News to help people find where stalls are set up in Lancaster and Morecambe, Lancashire. This new area is meant to be a single place for shoppers and stallholders to check if markets have moved from their usual spots due to events or building work.
The council looks after the historic Charter Market in Lancaster city centre and the Festival Market in Morecambe. The Charter Market runs every Wednesday and Saturday in the city centre, though its layout can change depending on what else is happening in the streets.
Stall locations are often changed because of local festivals or major building projects like the Eden Project Morecambe. By putting all the updates in one place, the council aims to make it easier for people to plan their shopping trips without arriving at the wrong location.
The council has also provided specific information for traders to ensure vendors know where to set up each week. Local residents are encouraged to check the council website for the latest news throughout 2026 before they head out to the markets.
