Residents in Lancashire, including Lancaster, who use digital services to report non-emergency crimes or incidents will experience a temporary disruption to online forms on Wednesday, 29 April 2026. The Lancashire Constabulary has announced that their online reporting portal will be unavailable between 5am and 7am to allow for platform maintenance.

During this two-hour window, the rest of the force’s website will remain accessible for those seeking crime prevention advice, news, or general information. The online reporting system, typically used for non-urgent matters such as property crime or minor incidents, will resume normal operation after 7am.

Anyone requiring emergency assistance during this time should continue to call 999 if a crime is in progress, an offender is nearby, or if there is an immediate risk of injury or danger. For non-emergency enquiries, the public is encouraged to use the 101 telephone service.

The online reporting portal is designed specifically for non-emergency matters. Residents using this service are reminded that it may take several hours for officers to respond to reports submitted online.

Lancashire Constabulary, which is led by Chief Constable Sacha Hatchett, serves a population of approximately 1.5 million people. Headquartered in Hutton, the force manages community safety across the county through its West, South, and East divisions.
