The Wildlife Trust BCN has announced a new series of free guided walks starting next month to help people in Luton, Bedfordshire, enjoy the outdoors. These 90-minute sessions are part of a project to help residents find hidden nature spots and meet their neighbours.

The walks will take place once a month from March to August 2026. Residents can visit special locations like Bramingham Wood, which is an ancient woodland area, or Leagrave Park, where the River Lea starts.

Organisers say the tours are meant to help improve mental health by giving people a chance to relax in the fresh air. According to the Wildlife Trust, research shows that spending time in local green spaces can significantly reduce stress and feelings of isolation.

The programme is run in partnership with Luton Borough Council and Total Wellbeing Luton. People who want to join can sign up online, with bookings for each walk usually opening about one month before the event takes place.
