Families in Luton have a new creative experience to look forward to this spring with the opening of a family-friendly exhibition at Wardown House Museum and Gallery. The Wonder Houses exhibition is set to debut on 17 May 2026, offering children and their families a chance to explore a unique museum adventure from 11am to 3pm.

The exhibition has been developed in partnership with local Luton children and brought to life by six artists. The display features creative, colourful houses located throughout the historic building, which is managed by The Culture Trust Luton on behalf of Luton Borough Council. Visitors can expect to meet the artists behind the project and take part in arts, crafts, and face painting.

This event serves as an early activity option for residents ahead of the local school half-term break, which runs from 25 May to 29 May 2026. Housed within the Victorian building at Wardown Park, the museum continues to host a variety of cultural programmes. Recent additions to the calendar include South Asian classical music performances and storytelling sessions designed for early years children.

The venue, which is a Grade II listed site, remains a centre for local history, including the town’s significant heritage as the heart of the British hat industry. For more information on upcoming exhibits and activities, residents can visit the Wardown House Museum and Gallery website.
