A Dudley-based training provider is donating £1,000 to the 3rd Macclesfield Upton Priory Scout Group to help fund its community youth programmes in Cheshire. The donation from MBKB Training marks the 10th anniversary of the company’s apprenticeship services and will support activities for more than 120 young people who attend the group every week.
The 3rd Macclesfield Upton Priory Scout Group is based at Phoenix Hall on Whiston Street and provides skill-building and regular activities for local children. According to records from the Macclesfield and Congleton Scout District, the group has been a part of the town since as early as 1908.
As part of the Cheshire Scouts, the group often takes part in local events and international campfire festivals. The new funding from MBKB Training, which provides apprenticeships and professional training, is intended to help with the charity’s daily running costs and future projects for young residents.
The scout group remains a central part of the community in central Macclesfield, focusing on teaching life skills through outdoor and social activities. This contribution will ensure the 118-year-old organisation can continue its weekly services at its Whiston Street headquarters through 2026.
