Macclesfield Town Council has confirmed that the 2026 Annual Town Meeting (Annual Parish Meeting) will take place on Monday 30 March 2026 at 6:00 pm at Macclesfield Town Hall in Macclesfield, Cheshire. This yearly event gives the town’s electors and members of the public an opportunity to speak directly with local councillors about issues that matter to them. The meeting is primarily for registered electors but local business owners may also attend.

According to Macclesfield Town Council, the session will include the council’s annual report and financial updates on how the local precept is being spent. A major topic for the evening will be progress on the South Park Pavilion project and other local park improvements. Residents can ask questions about the planned community hub, which will replace the existing pavilion that has been deemed not fit for purpose and has been partly condemned.

People attending the meeting can also raise other local concerns, such as the balance between new town-centre development and the preservation of green space. Over the last three years (2023–2025) the council has invested more than £100,000 in playground improvements at sites including Hall Grove and West Park to enhance outdoor spaces for families. The Annual Town Meeting provides a formal opportunity for the community to review the results of these and other investments.

Under local government rules and the council’s Standing Orders, electors attending the meeting may propose motions which, if passed by those present, must be formally considered at a subsequent Town Council meeting. The event is designed to be a transparent forum where councillors answer questions and explain local priorities and services.
