Officers from Cheshire Constabulary in Macclesfield are working to return items recovered during an investigation into a burglary series in which the total value of goods stolen is estimated to exceed £1 million. The appeal follows Operation Ambler, a major probe into break-ins at high-value homes that took place between October 2024 and March 2025.
The collection of recovered goods includes designer watches, high-end handbags and bespoke jewellery. Detective Inspector David Jarvis of Macclesfield CID, speaking after police raids, said the suspects targeted homes across several counties before being arrested.
A digital gallery has been set up for victims to view the items and identify anything that belongs to them. Anyone looking to claim an item must provide proof of ownership, such as a serial number, a purchase receipt or a personal photograph of themselves with the item.
As reported, six people have been charged or have pleaded guilty in connection with a string of high-value burglaries linked to the investigation. Police say returning personal belongings to victims is an important part of providing closure to affected families and of completing the investigation.
