Families in Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire, can take part in an outdoor adventure this spring as the Easter egg hunt returns to Ormesby Hall from March 30, 2026, to April 19, 2026. The National Trust is hosting the event to provide a local day out featuring themed activities across the gardens and front fields.

Children taking part will receive a trail pack containing a map and bunny ears to help them find their way around the estate. After completing the activities, every participant will receive a chocolate egg, with dairy-free and vegan options also provided.

The trail includes various traditional outdoor games such as wheelbarrow racing, egg and spoon racing, and welly throwing. These activities are spread throughout the grounds of the estate, which served as the home of the Pennyman family for over 400 years. The historic Georgian mansion at the heart of the property was built for the family in the 1740s.

According to information from Tees Valley, the trail will be open from 10:30 to 16:00 each day. While there is a small charge for the trail pack, standard admission prices apply to the rest of the site, which remains free for National Trust members.

The event is supported by local authorities as a way for residents to explore the local heritage site during the spring holidays, with listings featured on the Tees Valley Events guide. The hall and its gardens offer a large green space for families living in the surrounding community.
