The British Red Cross is now offering free training workshops for volunteers and community groups across Middlesbrough and Redcar-Cleveland. These sessions are designed to help local residents build practical skills and confidence when dealing with emergencies and difficult life events.

The educational programme offers three main workshops: First Aid, Adapt and Recover, and Supporting Connections. Each session lasts between 60 and 90 minutes and is designed to be informal and interactive. The content of each workshop is tailored to the specific needs of the participants, allowing groups to ask questions and focus on information most relevant to their members.

Workshops are available for both adults and young people. Adult groups can include between 5 and 15 participants, while youth sessions for those aged 10 to 19 can accommodate groups of 5 to 35. These sessions can be delivered either online or face-to-face. Those interested in learning more or registering a group can find information through the Middlesbrough Care Matters Directory or by contacting the Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council.

It is important to note that these sessions are educational and are not accredited courses. For individuals seeking accredited first aid training for work or professional health and safety requirements, the organization directs the public to its dedicated British Red Cross Training website.
