A free workshop aims to help Middlesbrough community groups track down funding and write stronger grant applications. Organised jointly by Middlesbrough Voluntary Development Agency and the council, the Find a Funder session takes place on 9 June 2026 from 10:00am until midday at Newport Settlement Community Hub on St Paul’s Road.

Sharon Barker from Middlesbrough Council and John Atkinson from MVDA will run one or two live funding searches using current needs raised by people in the room. The second part of the workshop will focus on making applications more successful and steering clear of common mistakes. The Find a Funder website itself is a free resource delivered through the partnership between the council and MVDA.

Places are available through the MVDA website or by contacting John Atkinson directly on 07852 269486 or at [email protected]. Anyone needing to cancel must do so by noon on 5 June.
