A 29-year-old man was taken to hospital for surgery after he was seriously injured during a fight involving weapons on Collinson Avenue in Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire, on Tuesday 24 February 2026. The incident happened in the middle of the afternoon in a residential street.

Officers from Cleveland Police were called to the scene at around 2:30pm following reports that three men were fighting in the street with bladed weapons. When they arrived, they found the victim had suffered a serious wound to his arm and a cut to his ankle.

The injured man was quickly transported to James Cook University Hospital to undergo surgery for his wounds. Police established a cordon on Collinson Avenue in the Whinney Banks area while they carried out their initial enquiries and searched for evidence.
