Middlesbrough College in North Yorkshire has added a new school leaver open event to its calendar on 16 June 2026 to help residents plan their next steps in education. The session will take place at the main campus on Dock Street from 5pm to 6:30pm for anyone looking to start a course in the autumn.
The open event is designed for school leavers, parents, and adults who want to learn new skills or retrain for a different career. Visitors can tour the campus, meet teachers, and find out about A-levels, apprenticeships, and technical qualifications. There will also be a welcome talk from the college leadership team at 5:30pm to explain the application process for the term starting in September 2026.
Prospective students can visit the MC6 sixth form centre, which achieved a 99 per cent pass rate for its students in 2025. The college also offers tours of the TTE Technical Training Centre, a 12 million pound facility that opened in 2024. This centre has the capacity to train more than 1,100 people each year in engineering and industry roles.
According to an inspection by Ofsted in February 2024, the college is rated as Good with Strong Skills. The report highlighted that six out of eight areas of the college were Outstanding, including its work with apprentices, adult learners, and its management and leadership team.
