Bus passengers across Milton Keynes are being advised to allow extra time for their journeys as Milton Keynes City Council manages a series of road closures and service diversions throughout the city in May 2026.
Beginning 25 April, Hospital Stop B at Eaglestone will be closed for improvement works until 22 May. During this time, all services that normally stop at this location will be redirected to turn at the Hospital roundabout, serve Stop A, and return via the Marina roundabout.
Further disruption is expected on 28 April, when the Westcroft Roundabout and Chaffron Way will close for highway maintenance between 9:30am and 4:30pm. Consequently, services 8 and Loop will divert along Childs Way, accessing Westcroft via Tattenhoe Street. On the same day, repairs to the underpass on Grafton Street between H2 Millars Way and H3 Monks Way will begin, remaining in place until 12 May. This will affect services 5, 83, and X33, which will follow diverted routes through local roads including Monks Way and Great Monks Street.
Additionally, the Midsummer Roundabout in Central Milton Keynes will be closed overnight for maintenance from 8pm on 30 April until 6am on 1 May. All services travelling from the city centre toward the train station will be diverted via Witan Gate and Avebury Boulevard, while buses heading from the station to the city centre will route via Silbury Boulevard and Witan Gate.
Residents are encouraged to plan their travel in advance during these periods. For updated information on routes and schedules, passengers can use the Traveline journey planning service.
