A local councillor has raised concerns about the rising costs and repeated plan changes for the Saxon Court redevelopment project in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire. This project, which began around 2020, involves turning the former council offices into a mix of homes and workspaces.

In March 2026, the councillor called for more transparency and for the community to be asked for their views before any more public money is spent. According to records from Milton Keynes City Council, the local authority has already looked at changing the contracts for the sale and building work at the site.

People living in the area are worried about how much the project, often called the MK Gateway, will eventually cost. Estimates for the work have changed several times over the last five years, moving from £180 million to as high as £200 million.

There are also concerns about the lack of parking for the 288 new homes planned for the site. The councillor warned that without clear information, taxpayers could face a larger financial burden to support the development and local infrastructure.
