Families in Milton Keynes looking to get their children involved in sport can take advantage of free football coaching opportunities offered by The Football Fun Factory. The organisation provides a three-week free trial for new participants aged 2-12, aiming to help young players build skills and confidence regardless of their previous experience.

The local franchise was established in March 2021 by Luke Russell, who transitioned into youth coaching after a nine-year career in car finance. Currently, the programme supports approximately 200 children each week in the area through various sessions and after-school clubs.

In addition to these sessions, the Milton Keynes City Council is running its Holiday Activities and Food programme this spring. This initiative offers a variety of free activities and meals to children aged 4-16 who receive benefit-related free school meals, with sessions scheduled between 7 April and 10 April 2026.

These local efforts coincide with upcoming changes from The Football Association, which is introducing a new framework called FutureFit for the 2026-27 season. The initiative is designed to increase participation and give young players more time on the ball through modified match formats.
