A murder investigation is underway after a woman in her 50s was found dead at a property in Wolverton Mill, Milton Keynes. Thames Valley Police were called to East Moor Drive at around 6pm on Sunday, 24 May following reports of welfare concerns, where the woman was discovered deceased.

A 58-year-old man from Milton Keynes was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody. The woman’s next of kin have been informed, though formal identification and a post-mortem examination have yet to take place. Specially trained officers are supporting the family, who have asked for privacy.

Detective Chief Inspector Sally Spencer, the senior investigating officer from the force’s Major Crime Unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who has sadly died. We know this incident will cause concern locally; however, we do not believe there is any ongoing risk to the wider community. This is a complex investigation that is still in its early stages, and we are actively pursuing a number of inquiries to understand exactly what has happened.”

Officers have established a visible presence and a scene watch on East Moor Drive. Anyone with information is urged to call 101, quoting reference 43260258168.
