Milton Keynes Central station in Buckinghamshire has updated its travel information on 26 February 2026 to include 900 sheltered cycle parking spaces and a bike hire hub to make travel easier for residents. The new storage area features CCTV monitoring and is located directly at the front of the station building. This expansion provides nearly three times the previous amount of bike parking, which used to cater for around 320 cycles.

Along with the extra parking, passengers can now access Santander Cycles MK hire bikes just outside the entrance for the last part of their trip. These improvements follow the station operator, London Northwestern Railway, being taken into public ownership by DfT Operator Ltd on 1 February 2026.

The new facilities are designed to give people a secure and cheaper alternative to using the station car park. While the car park has 549 spaces at a cost of £12.80 per day, the cycle hub encourages more residents to use the local 200-mile Redway path network. This shift is intended to make cycling a more attractive long-stay option for both shoppers and commuters.
