Milton Keynes City Council reached a major building milestone on 25 February 2026 at a new £13 million support centre for residents with complex disabilities in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire. Deputy Leader Cllr Lauren Townsend and Cabinet Member Cllr Donna Fuller visited the site to mark progress on the facility, which aims to provide better local care and specialist help.
The facility at Linford Wood Place is located on a 1.7-acre woodland site and is designed to support up to 59 adults every weekday. The building features 13 en-suite bedrooms and powered overhead hoists to help people move around safely, as well as a training kitchen.
Recent work at the former Avalon House building included the installation of large new windows that the council says let in twice as much natural light as older buildings. Once finished, the centre will also provide a cinema along with dedicated rooms for music and art activities.
The £13 million project includes £4 million from housing developers and will replace older buildings at Tower Drive in Neath Hill and Whaddon Way in Bletchley. While the main structural work is now finished, final work on the garden and interior will continue for a few more months before the first residents move in.
