Parents and carers of pupils at Slated Row School in Wolverton, Milton Keynes, can now view the results of the school’s latest inspection following the publication of an official report on 5 May 2026. The school, which serves 237 pupils aged 4-19 with complex learning needs and autism, received the highest possible national rating of Exceptional following a visit by inspectors on 10 March 2026.
The report from Ofsted awarded the school the top mark of Exceptional in the areas of attendance and behaviour, inclusion, and personal development and wellbeing. Additionally, the school achieved a Strong standard rating in achievement, curriculum and teaching, leadership and governance, and post-16 provision. All students at the school hold an Education, Health and Care plan.
Head of School Zoe Baines, who has led the school since April 2025, oversees operations across two sites alongside Jonathan Budd, the Executive Headteacher of The Aspire Federation: the Old Wolverton Campus for primary and Key Stage 3 pupils, and the Kents Hill Campus for older students. The school is part of The Aspire Federation, which also includes The Woodlands School under the guidance of a single governing board chaired by Amanda Farr.
The inspection team was led by His Majesty’s Inspector Simon Graydon, alongside inspectors Martin Dyer and Sue Cox. This latest result follows recent local recognition for the school, which was named SEND School of the Year at the 2024 Milton Keynes Education Awards, while Zoe Baines was recognised as Headteacher of the Year in 2025.
