The beloved children’s classic The Tiger Who Came to Tea is returning to Milton Keynes Theatre for two performances on Monday, 29 June 2026. Families in Milton Keynes can see the Olivier Award-nominated stage production at 13:30 or 16:30, as part of a tour that has been running across the United Kingdom and Ireland since February 2026.

The show, produced by Nicoll Entertainment, is based on the original picture book written and illustrated by Judith Kerr. First published in 1968, the story follows a young girl named Sophie and her mother, who are visited by a hungry tiger that unexpectedly consumes all the food and drink in their home. The book has since become a global success, selling more than one million copies.

This theatrical adaptation was created and directed by David Wood OBE, who is widely recognised for his extensive work in children’s theatre. The production has been a fixture on stage for 16 years, originating in the West End before touring nationwide. It is designed to be accessible for children aged 3 and older, with a running time of 55 minutes and no interval.

Milton Keynes Theatre, located at 500 Marlborough Gate, remains one of the region’s primary venues for live entertainment. Parents planning to attend should note that while the show is aimed at children aged 3+, infants under 18 months sitting on an adult’s lap do not require a ticket.
